On March 1, 2018, the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General released an updated guide providing information on the state’s Equal Pay Act. The guide provides an overview of the law, frequently asked questions covering a wide variety of subjects (definitions, permissible variations and prohibitions, liability, and affirmative defenses), a self-evaluation for employers, a sample checklist for a policy and practice review, and the language of amendments that take effective July 1, 2018.
