Beginning October 9, 2018, New York employees must annually receive sexual harassment prevention training. By January 1, 2019, all employees must complete the model training or a comparable training that meets the minimum standards.
The New York Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights released the following draft form and policies for employers to comply with the new standards:
The public, employers, and employees are encouraged by the department and the division to provide comments on the proposed form and policies. Comments for review may be submitted on or before September 12, 2018, and necessary revisions will be considered.
