On March 23, 2018, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam signed legislation (H.B. 1368) disqualifying a discharged employee from the continuation of health insurance coverage under a former employer’s group policy if he or she was discharged because of gross misconduct.
The law is effective July 1, 2018.
