October 23, 2018Minimum Wage Increase and Updated Poster
On September 28, 2018, the Delaware Department of Labor released an updated labor law poster covering:
- Payment of wages.
- Minimum wage, with the following increases:
- Regular Rate:
- Effective January 1, 2019, the regular rate increases to $8.75 per hour.
- Effective October 1, 2019, the regular rate increases to $9.25 per hour.
- Youth Rate (ages 14 – 17) and Training Rate (adults during first 90 days of employment):
- Effective January 1, 2019, the rate increases to $8.25 per hour.
- Effective October 1, 2019, the rate increases to $8.75 per hour.
- Regular Rate:
- Breaks.
- Discrimination, with additional information about sexual harassment, disability, and pregnancy discrimination.
- Child labor.
- Workers’ compensation.
The updated material in the poster is in red font. Employers are required by law to display this official poster in a place accessible to employees and where they regularly pass.
