2019 City of Alameda Minimum Wage Increase
The City of Alameda minimum wage will increase as follows:
- $13.50 per hour on July 1, 2019.
- $15 per hour on July 1, 2020.
Beginning July 1, 2022, and on July 1 of every year thereafter, the minimum wage then in effect will be adjusted by the increase in the cost of living of up to 5 percent. For example, if the February 2021 to February 2022 increase in the cost of living is 5 percent, then the minimum wage as of July 1, 2022 would be $15.75 ($15 x 1.05 = $15.75).

2019 City of Richmond Minimum Wage Increase
In October 2018, the City of Richmond announced that the city’s minimum wage will increase to $15 per hour. Employers must pay employees no less than the city’s minimum wage for each hour worked within the geographic boundaries of the City of Richmond.
This increased rate is effective January 1, 2019.

2019 Overtime Exemption for Computer Software Employees
On October 19, 2018, the California Department of Industrial Relations released a memorandum announcing the adjusted computer software employee minimum hourly rate of pay exemption from $43.58 to $45.41, the minimum monthly salary exemption from $7,565.85 to $7,883.62, and the minimum annual salary exemption from $90,790.07 to $94,603.25. These adjusted figures reflect the 4.2 percent increase in the California Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers.
The new amounts are effective January 1, 2019.

2019 Overtime Exemption for Licensed Physicians and Surgeons
On October 19, 2018, the California Department of Industrial Relations released a memorandum announcing the adjusted licensed physicians and surgeons minimum hourly rate of pay exemption from $79.39 to $82.72, reflecting the 4.2 percent increase in the California Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers.
These adjusted amounts are effective January 1, 2019.

2019 City of Cupertino Minimum Wage Increase
In October 2018, the City of Cupertino announced its minimum wage will increase to $15 per hour for all employees who perform two or more hours per week in Cupertino, regardless of immigration status.
This rate is effective January 1, 2019.
